Flora Détraz is a dancer, vocalist and choreographer. She grew up in a family of musicians. After training in classical dance and studying literature, she joined the training programme at the Centre chorégraphique national de Rillieux-la-Pape, under the direction of Maguy Marin. She then enrolled in the choreography course at Forum Dança in Lisbon. She trained with artists including Vera Mantero, Lia Rodrigues, Meg Stuart, Meredith Monk and Marlene Monteiro Freitas.

Flora Détraz works at the intersection of choreography, performance and music. The voice lies at the heart of her research. She creates hybrid, multidisciplinary works that explore, through the dialogue between body and voice, the notions of the invisible and transformation. Her work questions social conventions and representations of the body, particularly the female body. From breath to cries, from laughter to song, bodies seek to free themselves from a rational and moral narrative in order to connect with deep, ancestral and mythical layers.

As a performer, Flora Détraz has collaborated with the choreographers Laurent Cèbe, Cédric Cherdel, Sara Anjo and Marlene Monteiro Freitas.

PLI is a structure based in the Orne department of Normandy since 2013. It produces and distibutes works at the crossroads of of several artistic fields. It also develops research and transmission projects. PLI mainly produces projects by the choreographer Flora Détraz.
